How to Add Outlook to Mac Mail

Please note that if you receive an error message saying that your account is unable to be auto-configured, make sure that your Outlook client is fully updated with the latest patch.

To start, follow these steps:

1. Open Mac Mail on your computer.

2. Click on the '+' icon at the bottom left corner of the 'Accounts' screen to add a new email account.

3. You will be redirected to the NetID login screen. Enter your credentials for the account you are trying to configure.

4. Place a check mark in the 'Always use my response for this server' checkbox.

5. If you're unsure whether you're setting up a NetID account or a Service account, contact your domain administrator or the DoIT HelpDesk for assistance.

6. For a Service Account, enter the primary address of your Service account, which will take one of the following forms: 'serviceaccount@domain.edu'(mailto:serviceaccount@domain.edu), 'serviceaccount@domain.edu'(mailto:serviceaccount@domain.edu), or 'serviceaccount@domain.edu'(mailto:serviceaccount@domain.edu).

7. For a NetID Account, enter the primary address of your NetID account, which will take one of the following forms: 'netid@domain.edu'(mailto:netid@domain.edu), 'netid@domain.edu'(mailto:netid@domain.edu), or 'netid@domain.edu'(mailto:netid@domain.edu).

8. On the 'Setup your email' window, enter the email address of the account you're trying to configure.

9. Go to the 'Tools' menu and click on the 'Accounts' selection.

10. You have two options for adding your account:

* Option 1: Add your account to an existing profile.

* Option 3: Create a new profile.

If prompted for type of account, select Exchange or Office 365. Launch Outlook to start the account creation wizard.
